At The Streetly Academy we study Christianity in Years 7 and 8. In Year 7 we look at the life of Jesus and Holy Week. We also have some visitors come into your RE lessons to tell you why Jesus is so important to them. In Year 8 we look at how the church was formed after Jesus’ death and resurrection. This is also a religion that we study at GCSE level.

At The Streetly Academy we study Buddhism in Year 8. We look at how Buddhism was created and what Buddhists believe in.

At The Streetly Academy we study Judaism in Year 7. We look at what Jews believe and how they practice their faith as well as two key figures; Abraham and Moses. We even get to watch the film The Prince of Egypt!

At The Streetly Academy we study Sikhism in Year 8. We look at what Sikhs believe and how they practice their faith. This is also a religion that we study at GCSE level.

At The Streetly Academy we study Hinduism in Year 7. We look at what Hindus believe and study the story of Rama and Sita in depth as we create a puppet show!

At The Streetly Academy we study Islam in Year 8. We look at how Islam originated by studying the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him) and we study the five pillars of Islam.
